Big Cats Sanctuary on Sustainable Nature Reserve
One of the main missions of the project is to be an educational platform to create awareness about the conditions that the big cats encounter in their habitat. And how important it is to protect and preserve them. The project believes in the connection between environmental protection and wildlife, and has a goal to become the first "green" animal rescue center, and is already well on its way… with plans to have solar energy as its only energy source.
Examples of volunteer activities:
- Take care of the amazing big cats
- Make toys to stimulate the animals
- Prepare food
- Cleaning and maintenance
- Agricultural work
- Assist in educating the visitors

You live in a house with other volunteers and project staff. The house is located in the middle of the reserve, and you can enjoy the fantastic views of the mountains and the beautiful nature. The house has 6 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. You share a room with 3 other volunteers, alternatively with your partner in one of the "couple rooms". If you want, you can spend a night outdoors, and fall asleep under the starry sky. The house also has a spacious and fully equipped kitchen, a large living room with a dining area and a pool where you can cool off.
The project provides breakfast and lunch which is included in the price of the trip. You prepare the dinners yourself and cook together with the other volunteers. Once a week, the project offers to drive you and your volunteer friends to eat at one of the restaurants nearby. On Tuesdays, you will be taken on a "shopping tour", where you can buy food and other things you need. The shops are of good quality and the variety of food is good.
